Over the past 10 years or so I have been recording all my live performances. It’s a definite ordeal listening to all the recordings -the good the bad – what I thought was bad sometimes being good and what I thought was good sometimes bad. Overall this process of documenting my live shows has served as a guide for me to continue to improve and grow as a singer-songwriter. The ultimate lesson I have learned is to not get too high or low during my performances and simply try and trust in the song and let the natural flow of things inform me. One of the biggest rewards of all these recordings is capturing that lightning in a bottle -that magic when things come together just right and you wish it was recorded… well, in my case I have the recordings and will be sharing as I go 🙂 Here are a few to get things started – hope you enjoy!

Original Angel and Devil performed at The Troy Ale House in 2012. I was joined by some fine players. Mike McMann on his special mandolin style guitar, Kevin Maul on dobro and Richard Chapman sitting in on Bass. Richard also recorded the entire evening and was kind enough to edit/master this track. I love how this came out! Has a nice warm and raw feel to it, that gives a sense of authenticity -hard to achieve in a studio setting.

John Lennon’s Imagine performed outside at The Hilton Garden Inn – Troy, New York – 2015. You can hear the birds and cars/trucks driving by  -people talking in the background. A nice kind of intro to the song. Enjoy!

Crazy (Willie Nelson) This cute couple asked me during my gig at The Black Cat Ale House (February 2016) in Cohoes, New York – if I could play Crazy from Willie Nelson -so I gave it a shot. Sometimes playing a song straight-away is the best way to go -keeps things fresh and uncontrived. I really like this recording – hope you do too.

It’s So Easy

My good friend and singer-songwriter, Steve Candlen, came to see me play at The Merry Monk of Saratoga on New Years Day 2016. I dedicated  It’s So Easy

Ain’t No Sunshine (Bill Withers) performed at Bootleggers -Troy, New York – April 2016.
