Songs For You From Home III “Is My Heart What It Will Always Be?’

Here is one of the first run throughs. I like the energy and overall approach on this performance – I hope you do too 🙂

Lyrics:
Am I the sum of all that I’ve done?
Is what I am now the only truth?
All of the goodness can it be undone?
When your skeletons come to roost?

Is my heart what it will always be –
just a muscle pumping blood – so I can breathe?
Have our gods become mortal -mortar and stone – replaced by flesh and bone?

I want to be better I want to feel whole
There’s something insatiable that won’t let me be
Is it evolution to leave what you owe?
The sins of mother and father to be carried until we are free

Is my heart what it will always be –
just a muscle pumping blood – so I can breathe?
Have our gods become mortal -mortar and stone – replaced by flesh and bone?

I want to touch it – hold it close in my hands
So I can truly understand
I want to eat from the tree
If I am blind – how can I see?

Is my heart what it will always be –
just a muscle pumping blood – so I can breathe?
Have our gods become mortal -mortar and stone – replaced by flesh and bone?
