Over the past 7 years or so I have been recording all my live performances. It’s a definite ordeal listening to all the recordings -the good the bad – what I thought was bad sometimes being good and what I thought was good sometimes bad 🙂 Overall this process of documenting my live shows has served as a guide for me to get better as a singer-songwriter. The ultimate lesson I have learned is to not get too high or low during my performances and simply try and trust in the song and my practice. One of the biggest rewards of all these recordings is capturing that lightning in a bottle -that magic when things come together just right and you wish it was recorded… well, in my case I have the recordings and will be sharing as I go 🙂 Here are a few to get things started – hope you enjoy!

Original Angel and Devil performed at The Troy Ale House in 2012. I was joined by some fine players. Mike McMann on his special mandolin style guitar, and Kevin Maul on dobro. If you listen close you will hear Richard Chapman sitting in on Bass. Richard recorded the entire evening and was kind enough to edit/master this track. I love how this came out! Caught some lightning in a bottle as they say 🙂

John Lennon’s Imagine performed outside at The Hilton Garden Inn – Troy, New York – 2015. You can hear the birds and cars/trucks driving by  -while people are talking etc. A nice kind of intro to the song. Enjoy!

Crazy (Willie Nelson) This cute couple asked me during my gig at The Black Cat Ale House (February 2016) in Cohoes, New York – if I could play Crazy from Willie Nelson -so I gave it a shot after only rehearsing it a few times. Sometimes playing a song with minimal practice is the best way to go -keeps things interesting. I really like this recording – hope you do too.

It’s So Easy

My good friend Steve Candlen, a very talented singer-songwriter who plays mostly original songs at his shows came to see me play at The Merry Monk of Saratoga on New Years Day 2016 – with his girlfriend Jess Shaver (also a friend of mine). Well, of course he asked me to play one of my originals – so I played It’s So Easy -which is ironically not the easiest song to play with all those chords 😉

Ain’t No Sunshine (Bill Withers) performed at Bootleggers -Troy, New York – April 2016.
